A creator can give part of a coin’s fees to its holders. That share is collected in the coin’s own holder vault and paid out in SOL to the coin’s largest holders, in proportion to how much they hold. Rules based on random on-chain snapshots make sure rewards go to people who actually hold, not to someone who buys a minute before a payout.
How a coin gets holder rewards#
Holder rewards exist only if the creator chose a holders share in the fee split at launch, for example with the Community or All to the people preset. The share is locked on-chain like the rest of the split. The coin page shows the vault’s payouts with their transactions.
How a payout works#
Fees fill the vault
Every time fees are distributed, the holders share lands in the coin’s holder vault. On coins that trade against another token, the vault’s tokens are sold for SOL first.Random snapshots
Every 30 to 90 minutes, at random, the worker records the on-chain balances of the coin’s largest holders. It only does this for coins whose vault is close to a payout.The payout run
About every 6 hours (at a random time within 30 minutes either side), the worker pays out the vault if it holds enough and enough snapshots have been taken.Pro-rata transfers
Each eligible holder gets SOL in proportion to their eligible balance, sent directly to their wallet in batches.
Who is eligible#
For each wallet, the worker takes the smallest of its balance right now and its balance at every snapshot since the last payout. A wallet that is missing from a snapshot counts as holding nothing at that moment. So:
- tokens bought, or moved in, just before a payout earn nothing for that payout;
- tokens you held through every snapshot count in full, including tokens you received by transfer;
- selling part of your tokens at any point lowers your eligible amount to what you kept.
| Rule | Default |
|---|---|
| Snapshots needed since the last payout | At least 2 |
| Minimum holding time | The oldest of those snapshots must be at least 60 minutes old |
| Look-back window | At most 24 hours |
| Holders recorded per snapshot | The 400 largest (smaller holders count as 0 for that snapshot) |
| Recipients per payout | The 200 largest eligible holders |
| Vault balance needed for a payout | 0.1 SOL (the vault keeps 0.01 SOL for fees) |
| Smallest payment | 0.0001 SOL; smaller amounts are skipped |
| Payout cadence | About every 6 hours |
The platform can change these defaults.
Who is excluded#
- Program accounts, such as the bonding curve and the DEX pool.
- The coin’s own vaults and the other fee recipients in its split, such as the platform wallet and AI wallets.
- The platform treasury and the platform’s fee-paying wallet.
The creator, the paired account and the referrer are not excluded: if they hold the coin, they are paid like any other holder.
Note
Tip
If a payout does not happen#
If the vault holds less than the minimum, if there are not enough snapshots yet, or if a transfer batch fails, the SOL stays in the vault and is paid in a later run. Nothing is lost.
